Organization of Work of Student Scientific Circle at the Department of General Surgery in Terms of Credit-Modular System

The article deals with the aspects of the problems of organization of student scientific circle activity in terms of credit-modular system. It is noted that the task-oriented carrying out of scientific researches in circles contributes to the formation of well-rounded personality of specialist, scientist. Forms and stages of students’ work in scientific circles are provided. Attention was paid to the fact that the main purpose of student research circle is inuring students with skills of self-selection and studying specialized literature, ability to draw conclusions and generalizations, that is, to conduct research work. It is specified that the research activity is an integral part and a prerequisite of successful work of higher educational institutions.
Adoption of credit-modular system of training at surgical departments increased the percentage of students’ independent work, but, given the nature of surgery as «hand action», it always requires an additional mode of acquisition of certain skills. The work of the student scientific circle at the department of general surgery in the conditions of credit-modular system is the active form of surgical discipline learning, the transition from information-reporting form to modeling and forming way of training. The existence of student scientific circle at the department allows us to compensate fully all gaps of practical work in the Bologna process. The development of science in the higher school involves improving the quality of specialists’ training, able, in turn, after graduation to solve independently serious scientific problems.
